Date: Saturday, Sept 18
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Place: Bowness Park
In partnership with The City of Calgary Animal & Bylaw Services, AARCS invites you, and the public to come and see several demonstrations of sorts and interactive activities that can be done with dogs. This could include tracking, obedience, rally, Frisbee and agility. Dog owners will be invited to participate in all the different events and there will also be contests WITH celebrity judges.
There are going to be TONS of dogs, dog lovers, freebies, adoptable puppies, fun, and excitement for all.
AARCS will have a tent up in the far west corner of Bowness Park so come stop by! (We are looking for a couple volunteers to help Paula and I man the booth, please.)
For further details on the event, please Download RDOG pdf or visit our website at : http://www.albertaanimalrescuecrew.com , a map of the park is also available there.
A good plan for a great park
TAKE A WALK through Bowness Park any weekday morning and you’ll find it pretty much as you like. A quiet, reflective, Class A greenspace—the crown jewel in our landscape, and a calling card to the greater northwest to come on down and stay awhile. Problem is, every weekend between May and October, that invite is accepted in spades. Visit the park at high noon on any given Sunday and you’ll wonder when picnicking became a strictly drive-in experience. It’s bumper to bumper, packed to bursting, and suddenly the park is the last place you’d ever want to be on a stat holiday. Read more…
