The Federation of Calgary Communities welcomes amateur photographers of all ages to enter their My Community Amateur Photo Contest. We are looking for photos that display what community life means to you, along with a written description explaining why.

A total of $600 in prizes will be awarded: a $300 cash-value prize for first place, a $200 cash-value prize for second place and a $100 cash value prize for third place!

Bowmont Park Natural Environment Park Photo Contest

The Oct. 8 entry deadline for the 10th annual competition is approaching.

The Bowmont Natural Environment Park Committee and the City of Calgary Parks Environment and Education Initiatives are looking for your best shots taken in Bowmont Natural Environment Park.

Open to all amateur photographers, photos must be taken within Bowmont Natural Environment Park between Nov. 1, 2009, and Oct. 1, 2010.

Full contest details, entry forms and photo release waivers are available at www.calgary.ca/parks or at community centre offices in Bowness, Montgomery, Silver Springs and Varsity. Drop off your entries at Bowness, Montgomery, Silver Springs or Varsity community centre ­offices prior to the contest deadline.
