Bowness Block Watch Safety Task Group

September 1, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Our first meeting was an overwhelming success. All community partners agreed such a task group has been in demand for a long time. The needs of the community to prevent crime as well educate and involve residents have changed over the years, and we want to diversify as much as we can with solutions for the neighbourhood.

Strong interest from the Alderman’s office and the Calgary Police Service’s Community Liaison Officers to be involved from the outset paves the way to establish this safety task group as a permanent vehicle to drive out crime from our neighbourhood.

We will regroup in autumn to identify problem areas and challenges in the community and develop a step-by-step plan for resolving the issues together with our stakeholders and the community.

There will be many opportunities for Bownesians to be involved in making our community safer, and we will keep you apprised of these. If you have any questions, please call Andreas Brunthaler, program co-ordinator for Calgary Community Block Watch, at 403-509-2565 ext. 24.
